I’ve just signed up to do a day in Melbourne with Illustrators Australia. It’s called ‘One Day. One Word’. It’s being held in the ABC Centre on Southbank and will be covered by the ABC! There’ll probably be loads of other illustrators there – talented ones – so I am a little scared to say the least. I thought I ought to have a go at practicing so it’s back to Illustration Friday. This was an immediate and probably quite unoriginal response to the word, but I’m busy busy finishing roughs for a book. It was nice to scribble just for the sake of it for a moment.
‘Perspective’ for Illustration Friday
1 MarI haven’t done Illustration Friday since last September!! That’s terrible and its about time I got back in touch and started snooping around some of the truly fabulous illustration blogs that are out there. This is a self portrait from our dogs perspective. Last week he chewed three cushions and a handmade quilt. He’s lucky to still be walking around.
Beginning to really love this Photoshop stuff. Mmmmm just spotted the obvious Lane Smith influence.

We’ve been watching ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ over the past few weeks and love to marvel at impossible acts of strength and grace.
‘Talisman’ for IF

It’s Easter so I’ve got rabbits on my mind. This was based on a silly scribble I did for the subject ‘superstition’ ages ago. On the subject of rabbits though Emily Gravett is the absolute illustrating queen of rabbits. Her books are hilarious and fabulously quirky and interactive. Her book ‘Wolves‘ was just wonderful and I’m really looking forward to checking out ‘The Rabbit Problem‘.
Happy Easter!
